Highlights of the tour

Highlights generally include:

• The Founding Documents — stand before the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights, the texts that shaped the nation's government and guaranteed its core freedoms.

• The Magna Carta (1297) — view one of the rare surviving copies of this medieval English charter, a document that laid the foundation for constitutional law and individual rights.

• The Star-Spangled Banner — see the original flag that inspired the U.S. national anthem. This massive 15-star, 15-stripe banner flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 and remains one of America's most treasured artifacts.

• George Washington's Uniform and Sword — get up close to George Washington's actual military uniform and battle sword, worn and carried during the American Revolution!

• Dorothy's Ruby Slippers — step into Hollywood history with the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. One of the most recognizable artifacts in pop culture history.

Brenda was absolutely excellent! An incredible wrath of knowledge delivered in an engaging and interactive way. She was endlessly flexible when my teenagers wandered off, digging deeply into areas of history that the adults wanted and provided a wonderful 2+ hour experience. The time flew by! I will definitely request her on future visits!
