The American Museum of Natural History is one of the most visited attractions in New York City. The museum building comprises four floors, which cover a wide range of collections in different genres. From a giant 1400-year-old sequoia tree to the fir forest of Ontario and cactus forest in Arizona, this hall will give you a deep look at the variety of the forests in the country. It also has exhibits that showcase the wildlife in different habitats, such as the mixed deciduous forest in the Great Smoky Mountains, coastal plain forest in South Carolina, and piñon and juniper forests of Colorado.

Apart from the Biodiversity and Environmental Halls, the permanent exhibitions in the American Museum of Natural History are divided into the Halls of Reptiles and Amphibians, Birds Halls, Earth and Planetary Sciences Halls, Fossil Halls, the Hall of Human Origins, Cultural Halls, Mammal Halls, and the Rose Center for Earth and Space. There is also a Theodore Roosevelt Memorial hall in the building, which is dedicated to the life and journey of the 26th US President.

There is also a Grand Gallery in the American Museum of Natural History, which has a variety of specimens on display, such as a magnificent sample of stibnite mineral, a colorful ancient ammonite, a case of ancient trilobite fossils, and a rare slab of jadeite jade. You can also find many temporary exhibitions and special exhibits, which are displayed on different floors of the museum. The American Museum of Natural History even hosts IMAX shows and space shows for people on tours of the museum.

The American Museum of Natural History is located at Central Park West and opens every day from 10:00 AM to 5:45 PM, except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The admission tickets to the museum cost $22 for adults and $12.50 for children up to 12 years of age. Children below the age of 2 and museum members get free entry. The museum also offers a discounted rate for seniors above 60 years of age and students.
