With no less than 2 million works of art and artifacts on hand, the Met showcases objects from Ancient Greece and Egypt as well as modern art from Europe and beyond. During this tour, you’ll start at the sumptuous Great Hall before moving to the museum’s most important galleries. In the Medieval Europe Gallery you’ll learn about the Studiolo from the Ducal Palace as well as armory worn by Henry VIII. The American wing hosts the staircase from the Chicago Stock Exchange as well as the iconic portrait of Washington crossing the Delaware River. Learn about the turbulent and inspiring lives of several European painters including Vermeer, Seurat, and Van Gogh in the European wings. The museum itself has stories to tell, and your guide will explain how this American gallery differs from its older European counterparts, especially since it began before the United States was even 100 years old!

The Met is so overwhelming that we thought a 2 1/2 hour tour to distill it down was the way to tackle it since we only had 1/2 day. Jeff was awesome! He hit the highlights. We were able to to tailor it to our particular interests but he also hit on some of the prized pieces and gave many back stories associated with the acquisition of some of the pieces. Great fun! Highly recommend this tour. Whitney Brooks
Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We went the weekend before Christmas and I was very thankful I booked it. Busiest weekend, lots of people. We didn’t have to wait in line. Worth every penny. We were guided around based on our interests and what we wanted to see. The tour guide was very knowledgeable not only about the Met but, fun NYC facts! We would totally do this again. Thank you for a great experience!
Our guide was Matt and we loved him! His overall energy was awesome and he know exactly how to give off information with boring us. So happy we chose Babylon City Tours
