Highlights of the tour

Highlights generally include:

• Botticelli's The Birth of Venus, one of the most celebrated paintings of the Renaissance, where Botticelli's ethereal Venus emerges from the sea on a shell, symbolizing beauty, love, and rebirth.

• Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation, see an early masterpiece by da Vinci, where delicate details, masterful perspective, and luminous colors hint at the genius that would later redefine art history.

• Michelangelo's Doni Tondo, admire Michelangelo's only surviving panel painting, a vibrant and dynamic depiction of the Holy Family that foreshadows the sculptor's monumental works in the Sistine Chapel.

• Caravaggio's Medusa, experience Caravaggio's dramatic interpretation of the myth, where Medusa's severed head — painted on a shield-conveys horror, movement, and intense realism.

• Titian's Venus of Urbino, marvel at Titian's sensuous and enigmatic Venus of Urbino, a groundbreaking portrayal of feminine beauty and intimacy that influenced generations of artists.

Paris has the Louvre, but Florence has the Uffizi-Italy's most visited museum and home to its most treasured artworks.

On this 2.5-hour private tour, our expert guide will lead you through its grand halls, revealing the stories and secrets behind some of the most celebrated masterpieces of the Renaissance. Overlooking the Arno River, the gallery itself is as picturesque as the paintings that hang on its walls. Inside, explore an unrivaled collection of Italian masters, from Botticelli's Primavera and The Birth of Venus — an image that has captivated audiences for centuries-to the striking realism of Caravaggio's Medusa and Titian's Venus of Urbino. Admire Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation, Michelangelo's Doni Tondo, and countless works that showcase the genius of the Renaissance.

By the end of this tour, you'll have a deeper appreciation for the visionaries who shaped art history and a new understanding of Florence's role as the cradle of the Renaissance. Feel free to continue exploring at your own pace, now equipped with the insight to make the most of your visit.

What Our Customers Say

Best way to experience the Uffizi!

Best way to experience the Uffizi!

Our tour was with Eleonora. She kept in touch before the tour- it was clear where to meet her. She was VERY knowledgeable, and gave an overview of the Uffizi as well as focused on the highlights across the centuries. She had many interesting facts and stories. The semi private tour is much better than the large tour group experience! Highly recommend.

Hands down best tour

We had many tour guides during our Italy trip and none was better than Annette from Babylon Tours. She went beyond basic information and wove a historical story about the Uffizi and how the art reflected the actual events. We looked at tons of art during our trip but the only things I remember are from this tour because she made them come alive for us. Could not recommend more!

Three hours of fascinating art history given by a fascinating art historian

Our guide Annette was awesome, an absolute font of knowledge. We could tell we were in the hands of an art historian because she seemed to know everything about every artwork in the entire museum. We were enthralled the whole time; three hours just flew by. It was so worth taking the tour because not only did we get to see all the most important works in a prioritized manner, but we learned so much about the collection overall and each individual artwork we saw, as well as the building itself. Annette made it all so much more interesting than...

Great tour

Tour guide Francesco was friendly, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. We were the only ones on the tour that day. He spoke very good English and provided a great tour of the museum and told us many facts we would not have known if we had done this on our own. He showed us around the city center and gave us good recommendations for lunch and gelato. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal Tour of the Uffizi!

Phenomenal Tour of the Uffizi!

Our tour guide, Elenora, was exceptional! She brought the Uffizi to life for our group of five. She was knowledgeable, passionate, and fun. Our understanding of the amazing art work was so much deeper with her explanations. Without her guidance, we would have just rambled through the huge museum, enjoying the art, but not putting it all into context. Well worth the cost of the private tour, which did not end up being much more than a regular tour. The tour company was also very accommodating as we had to make some very last minute additions. I was very appreciative...

Consistently Excellent—Babylon Tours Never Disappoint

We had a fantastic tour of the Uffizi Gallery with Giacomo K, who was incredibly knowledgeable. He brought great depth and perspective to the art and patiently answered all of our questions. What made the experience especially memorable was his willingness to engage in thoughtful dialogue about how the ideas and themes in the artwork still resonate today. He made the tour feel both educational and relevant. We first discovered Babylon Tours a couple of years ago, and now we always look to book with them first because of the consistently exceptional experiences we've had.
