This tour was very informative and gave us a lot of information about Amsterdam and Rembrandt’s life here. It covered a great mix of history and art. Our guide, Hanneke was wonderful. She was VERY knowledgeable and made accommodations to make the tour very enjoyable for us. I would highly recommend Hanneke and this tour.

Our tour guide Huibert was amazing! He was so articulate, so knowledgeable and also personalized this experience for our interests. Yes, we got a wonderful overview history of Amsterdam but what really made this a memorable and magical time were all the hidden gems of Amsterdam he shared in a why a guidebook just can’t. I think the title should be “City Center and hidden gems of Amsterdam”! Cannot recommend tour or Huibert more highly.

Anna & the Van Gogh museum were the highlight of our four days in Amsterdam! Cannot recommend her highly enough—-it’s really a shame you don’t get to pick your tour guide. When you pay big bucks for a guide, you are hoping that they can make the experience memorable—that you will come away with new knowledge or understanding that you wouldn’t have gotten on your own, to make it truly memorable. Yes, I realize that’s a high bar. I can honestly say Anna got us there. I’ve done probably 6 or 8 guided museum tours in the last 2-3 years....

You’ll be hard pushed to find a city with as many different personalities as Amsterdam. From the imposing Rijksmuseum, showcasing over 8000 works of art, to discovering the life and work of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh at the Van Gogh Museum.
Formerly a small fishing village, Amsterdam is a watery city that lies below sea level and relies on the eleven million wooden poles that keep the buildings upright. Many houses lining the famous canals are known as ‘dancing houses’ because of their precarious slant to one side.
The Dutch capital has over 160 canals and 1281 bridges, four times as many bridges as Venice.
Get your bearings on our History of Amsterdam walking tour, spending 2.5 hours with our expert local guide who will showcase the finest architecture and fascinating history.
Our Rembrandt guided walking tour will see you following in the footsteps of the world-famous Dutch artist, Rembrandt, while visiting the streets and districts where he lived in the 17th century, including a guided visit to his home in the old Jewish neighborhood.
Walk via Vondelpark for a stroll through the city’s largest green space, before taking a private tour of the cobbled streets.
Art is everywhere, from the imposing Rijksmuseum, home to masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Dutch Golden Age artists, to the life and work of Vincent van Gogh at the Van Gogh Museum.
